Professional experience
2000 onwards I have provided a locum service for numerous London veterinary surgeries. For the last two years I have been in full-time employment with sole charge for branch practices at two large veterinary groups (Goddards and Best Friends).
From 1997 to 2000 Margetts and Associates - a busy small animal practice. In addition to cats and dogs, I have been involved with a number of exotic animals, including snakes, lizards and birds, and a wide range of diagnostic and treatment procedures, including orthopaedic surgery.
May 1996 to June 1999 I worked in the Onderstepoort Academic Hospital, under supervision, as part of my clinical training. I spent rotations in the following clinics - out-patient, mobile clinic (production animals), small animal medicine and surgery, heard health (eg pigs, beef, dairy, small stock), pathology, production animal medicine and surgery, poultry diseases and husbandry, community health, equine medicine and surgery, theriogenology, anaesthesiology, ophthalmology, radiology. In addition, I have spent time with the following - State Veterinarian, Pretoria (2 weeks), SPCA, Durban (2 weeks), private practice (4 weeks).
